Process
The Mothership process is designed to be clear and focused.
Four steps take you from idea to keys in hand.
1) Discovery Call
A short conversation to understand:
How you want to use the van
Budget, timing, and where you’ll travel
What level of capability and comfort makes sense for you
The call covers layouts, major systems, and general options.
By the end, there’s typically a ballpark price range, an estimated timeline, and a shared sense of whether a Mothership van is the right fit.
2) Design (≈ 2 Weeks)
Design Deposit
A non-refundable design deposit secures your place in the queue and is applied to your final purchase price.
During design, your needs are translated into a specific build:
Exterior and interior layout
Power, climate, water, and connectivity plan
Materials and finishes palette
Photorealistic renders of key views
A clear written spec and updated pricing
Design is collaborative, with room for refinement before the final configuration is locked in.
3) Build
Once the design is approved and the build deposit is received, fabrication begins.
Structure, cabinetry, and systems are installed and integrated
Electrical, plumbing, climate, and connectivity are brought online and tested
Surfaces, lighting, and details are finished to match the design
The goal is a quiet, solid, fully integrated van that feels intentional in every inch.
4) Road Trial & Handoff
Before pickup, the van goes through a road trial and system checks to confirm everything is operating as intended.
At handoff:
The major systems and controls are reviewed in person
There is time to get oriented to the layout and operation
Pickup takes place in San Diego, California.
Final payment is due at or before pickup.
